About Us

• The center focuses on providing targeted rehabilitative services, structure, and support for youth.
• The primary objective is to reduce recidivism for youth aged 10-17 who are involved in the youth justice system through community-based intervention.
• The structure for service provision is trauma-informed and rooted in the Key Principles of Positive Youth Development and based on the Eight Evidence-Based Principles for Effective Interventions

Who Can Attend Our Program?

• Youth referred by The Sheboygan County Courts
• Youth referred by Sheboygan County Youth Justice Workers

What Do We Do?
  • Group Sessions
    • The evidence-based Skillstreaming curriculum addresses adaptive skills and attitudes with the goal of reducing recidivism and promoting prosocial behaviors.
    • Interactive lessons increase daily living skills, such as- Using Self-Control, Responding to Failure, Making A Decision, Negotiating, and Rewarding Yourself.
  • One on One Sessions
    • In One-on-One sessions, the youth work directly with their assigned youth counselor on the youth’s individualized plan. These could focus on working toward goals, addressing needs, and providing resources.
    • Additional focus on demonstrating and establishing confidence in the skills learned in group sessions and individual skill building.
  • Educational Support
    • Youth counselors work with youth to communicate with teachers on work that needs to be completed, support in completion of work, and assistance in building organization skills.
  • Group Activities (Always supervised)
    • Meal planning and preparing meals for everyone at the center.
    • Physical activities such as basketball, cornhole, or going for a walk.
    • Games to focus on building pro-social skills.
    • Engaging in Community Service Opportunities.
  • Choice Time
    • Individualized activities decided upon by the youth from a menu of options.
    • Choice time can consist of journaling, art projects, crafts, or music exploration.
