Sheboygan Youth Center Program Director

The Program Director oversees the Innov8 Youth Center, which serves criminal justice-involved youth. This position ensures the program meets the needs of all youth and Sheboygan County Health and Human Services through professional collaboration and providing oversight of daily operations. The Program Director is responsible for supervising staff, quality assurance, policies and procedures, and outcome reporting.

Responsibilities                

  • Provide oversight of program operations and supervision of staff
  • Serve as the main point of contact with Sheboygan County Health and Human Services and other partners
  • Create and maintain a quality assurance process that monitors the service provision, appropriate documentation, and participant satisfaction
  • Provide support and coaching to staff in sustaining positive relationships with youth, de-escalation, and problem-solving as issues arise
  • Oversee program curriculum and service provision approaches
  • Evaluate outcomes based on program performance indicators
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of program documentation and reports
  • Work in conjunction with the HR department to recruit, screen, interview, and hire new program staff and ensure all staff licensures, certifications, and caregiver background checks are up-to-date and filed appropriately
  • Develop and update staff training materials, program forms, and other program documents
  • Oversee initial and ongoing training for staff
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with community partners, such as schools, community service opportunities, and food donations
  • Develop and update program policies, procedures, and forms to meet agency and contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with administration on budget creation and monitoring
  • Provide coverage and work individually with youth as needed 

Competencies and Skills:

  • Leadership skills and ability to coach and train staff, build and maintain morale amongst team members, promote strong teamwork, and develop positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and support staff to provide an inclusive environment for individuals from all economic, ethnic, racial, and LGBTQIA+ identities
  • Experience assessing and providing services to individuals with mental health and substance use and knowledge of treatment resources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of skill in organization, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to coach staff in strengths-based, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and harm-reduction approaches
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, master’s degree preferred
  • At least five years of youth service, supervisory, and program management experience
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance
  • Pre-employment background check
