United House and St. Anthony’s Place are part of the Milwaukee County Housing First initiative. This model is based on the knowledge that securing safe and stable housing is the first step in eliminating chronic homelessness, not a future aspiration after a myriad of other challenges have been resolved.
Sirona partners with the Milwaukee County Housing Division and housing development groups to provide supportive housing services in two apartment buildings in the city of Milwaukee – United House and St. Anthony’s Place. As part of the Housing First initiative in Milwaukee, these programs provide individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and mental illness with safe and affordable housing. In addition, Sirona staff provide case management and certified peer support services to help residents confront the root causes of homelessness, set and reach their personal goals, and improve their overall quality of life.
St. Anthony’s Place is a 60-unit facility managed by Heartland Housing. St. Anthony’s Place is open to individuals with Section 8 and MyHome Housing Vouchers. United House is a 24-unit facility managed by Cardinal Capital. United House is also open to individuals with Section 8 and MyHome Housing Vouchers that are connected with a case management program through the county. Applications for both programs are accessed through Impact 211 and the Coordinated Entry process.
