Peer Support Specialist

The Peer Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to Pathways residents and facilitate daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and evaluate residents’ Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Regularly review and discuss with residents their Personal Recovery Crisis Prevention Plan and Individualized Service Plan
  • Co-facilitate recovery-oriented groups with Care Coordinators
  • Provide support and assistance to consumers
  • Facilitate day-to-day activities such as cleaning common areas
  • Communicate facility rules to consumers and enforce rules as necessary
  • Perform Resident Manager duties when one is not present
  • Coordinate with other staff to ensure high quality and consistent care

Qualifications & Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Wisconsin Peer Support Certification
  • Prior working experience in human services preferred
  • Demonstrate cultural competency, including gender and cultural responsiveness, and dedication to ongoing training in diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience with strengths-based, Trauma-informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm-reduction approaches
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile with insurance required.
  • Pre-employment background check
