Program Coordinator

This position offers a balance between management responsibilities and direct service to residents by managing Sirona Recovery’s Permanent Supportive Housing programs which provide services to people who live with mental health, substance use, or other challenges who may need support to live independently after homelessness.

Services are provided within the Housing First model, which is a low-barrier, person-centered, and rehabilitative approach to supportive housing. The Program Coordinator is responsible for direct supervision and hiring of staff, coordinating initial and ongoing staff training, and support. The position also develops and updates program policies and procedures to meet agency and contractual requirements, maintaining a quality assurance process that monitors the quality of service provision, appropriate case documentation, and participant satisfaction. The Program Coordinator facilitates and participates in meetings with Milwaukee County Housing Division, property management, and outside care providers. Direct service to residents includes providing support, referrals, assessments, and coordinating care with outside case managers and providers.


  • Leadership skills and ability to coach and train staff, build and maintain morale amongst team members, promote strong teamwork, and develop positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals from diverse economic, ethnic, and racial groups
  • Understanding of and experience with homeless individuals and navigating Milwaukee County systems
  • Experience assessing and providing services to individuals with mental health and substance use and knowledge of treatment resources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to coach staff in strengths-based, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and harm reduction approaches
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)


  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Clinical experience, APSW, LPC, LCSW, MFT preferred
  • Experience in leading or managing staff in a human service program
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance required
